About Recreational Soccer
Goal:
The
Goal of the HYSA Recreational Soccer Program is to form
fair competitive teams in each age group (U5 - U18 teams)
for boys and girls. These players will have: “The
Bill of Rights for Young Athletes”
- Right to participate in sports
- Right to participate at a level commensurate with
each child's maturity and ability
- Right to play as a child and not as an adult
- Right to participate in safe and healthy environments
- Right to proper preparation for participation in sports
- Right to an equal opportunity to strive for success
- Right to be treated with dignity
- Right to have fun in sports
Objective:
The Recreational Soccer Program is organized with the objective
to provide youth soccer players the opportunity to have
fun, learn the fundamental skills of soccer and provide
the opportunity for all players to develop to their highest
playing potential. This opportunity opens the door for
Recreational Players to participate in Select Soccer,
Olympic Development Program (ODP), High School Soccer
Programs and to compete for College Soccer scholarships.
Commitment:
- 2 seasons, Fall and Spring, each consisting of 8-weeks.
- All teams in ages U-10 and above qualify and play
in the City Tournament, held at the end of both seasons.
- One to two practices a week.
- All regular games and city tournament played at Tatum
Park. District and state tournaments are played
instate and could require travel.
Fees:
- Fees cover uniform jersey, referee fees, field
maintenance, and insurance. Each players pays $55 in
the spring and $55 in the fall.
- Uniforms belong to the player after each season.
- Fees for team that qualify for district tournaments
have to be raised by each team..
- Fee for teams that qualify for the state tournament
are paid for by HYSA.
